Exclude Lists/Segments From a Campaign Send

The "Exclusion" feature allows you to exclude lists and segments from a campaign send.

Here's a example :

Let's say you have 3 lists which bought different products, with subscribers with custom fields as follows:

The order will be Email Address, Age, Country and Gender :

List 1 ....Bought Product A

imnica1example@gmail.com,18-24,SA,Male
imnica1example@hotmail.com,18-24,SA,Female
imnica1example@yahoo.co.za,25-34,US,Male
imnica2example@gmail.com,25-34,US,Female
imnica2example@hotmail.com,35-44,GB,Male
imnica3example@gmail.com,35-44,GB,Female
imnica4example@gmail.com,45-54,GB,Male

List 2 ....Bought Product B

imnica2example@gmail.com,25-34,US,Female
imnica2example@hotmail.com,35-44,GB,Male
imnica3example@gmail.com,35-44,GB,Female

List 3 ....Bought Product C

imnica1example@gmail.com,18-24,SA,Male
imnica1example@hotmail.com,18-24,SA,Female
imnica1example@yahoo.co.za,25-34,US,Male
imnica3example@gmail.com,35-44,GB,Female

Subscriber in List1 bought Product A, subscribers in List2 bought Product B and subscribers in List3 bought Product C.

You can see there are email addresses on more than one list, which means they bought some of the other products as well.

Now let's say you want to promote Product B to the subscriber of List 1, but there are some subscribers on List 1 that already bought Product B (List 2) and you DON'T want them to see the offer again because they already bought Product B.....This is where the Exclusions feature comes in. Now you can select to exclude List 2's subscribers (that is also found on List 1) from the campaign.

This feature also works with Segments, if you want to exclude segments.
